World Heart Day
World Heart Day is celebrated worldwide on September 29, to raise public awareness of heart disease and including its prevention and global impact. In 1999, the World Heart Federation (WHF) announced the establishment of World Heart Day in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). The idea for the annual event was conceived by WHF President Antoine Bias de Luna in 1997–19. World Heart Day is actually (as of 2011) celebrated on the last Sunday in September, with the first celebration taking place on September 24, 2000.
Heart Day is part of an international campaign to raise awareness about the prevention of heart disease and stroke. This is the perfect day to quit smoking, exercise and start a healthy diet – keep your ticker in good working order and improve the health and well-being of people around the world.
The World Heart Federation has found that heart disease and heart attack are the leading causes of death in the world, with 17.1 million people killed each year – more than victims of cancer, HIV, AIDS, and malaria.
Overeating, lack of exercise, unhealthy diet, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and glucose levels are all factors that can cause heart disease and our own lives and factors at risk. The Heart Day message is set to be taken home so that heart problem can be prevented.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death. Every year around 2000 million people worldwide die of heart disease. Most of these deaths are due to coronary heart disease or stroke. Although a sedentary lifestyle is common, heart disease is often considered one of the leading causes of death in developed countries, with more than 80 percent of deaths from these diseases occurring in low and middle-income developing countries.
The main causes of heart disease – poor diet, lack of exercise, and smoking are considered to be variable factors. Therefore, these diseases can be prevented, even in developing countries, which often do not have effective health care plans. Heart disease also has a major impact on the economic conditions of countries due to high health care costs due to disability-related to treatment and productivity, and absence from work.
Since the first World Heart Day, the WHF, an alternative NGO, has continued to sponsor the annual event, collect and distribute information and announce a topic. Educational programs designed to engage the public are an important part of World Heart Day. Information about heart disease and ways to prevent it is provided through public discussion, podcasts, posters, and prescriptions.
World Heart Day walks, walks, concerts, fundraising, sporting events, health screenings, and other activities have a positive impact on public health and overall health awareness. In addition, there are scientific meetings and gatherings of international cardiovascular research organizations and medical societies on or around World Heart Day. It is a good idea to look online to see if an event is taking place in your local area. If not, what about organizing an event of your own? All you need is an idea that is going to interact with the community and create awareness about heart disease. It can range from a funfair to a community fair. It’s yours.
You can gather your friends and family, host an interesting event, raise awareness of the issues, and ask them to contribute. Other means of raising money include making handicrafts and then donating the proceeds to a charity or charity.
Many charitable organizations and organizations work well to raise awareness and find solutions to various cardiovascular problems. HEART DAY CELEBRATION ACROSS WORLD
Governments and NGOs celebrate and promote World Heart Day with fun races, public debates, concerts, and sporting events. The World Heart Federation conducts awareness programs in over a hundred countries. They include:

- Public Dialogue and Science Forum
- Stage shows and concerts.
- Exhibitions.
These activities are carried out in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Health Coordinating and Coordinating Organizations.

During COVID-19, CVD patients face a double threat. Not only are they more likely to develop severe forms of the virus, they may also be afraid to take care of their heart. CVDs are the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 31% of global deaths. Most CVDs can be prevented by addressing behavioral risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and obesity, physical inactivity.
So, the World Health Day Theme 2020 is – “Use Heart to beat Covid-19”
