  • Coginitive Impairment
  • Sensory Impairment
  • Intellectual Impairment

There are various reasons that causes disability.

Genetical- Some children face disability genetically. If a mother takes lot of stress during pregnancy the chances are more that the child will be Disabled.

Environmental Cause- If any injury cause to the mother during pre-natal stage or the child faces brain injury after the birth. Intake of improper medicines also makes a child disabled.

Unknown Reasons- Sometimes the case is unknown, the reason cannot be diagnosed. This happens mostly with physical and intellectual disability.

Person with disabilities face many rejections by the society. They face ignorance by the society. Today, also some families do not accept their disabled child, they feel shame by telling others that their child is disabled. Person with disability are not the curse, they are as equal as normal children. Only they need some support from the society to move forward. Government also opens many doors for them and some programme and policies are run by them, i.e

The National Policy On Education (NPE)- NPE work in the areas of integrated education for mild disabled children and special schools for moderate and severe disability with hostel facility and vocational training.

Sarva Siksha Abhiya- Education for All (SSA)- The programe was implemented in 2001 in which ‘Education for All’ is necessary for children in the age group 6 to 14. Special Educators are appointed as a resourse teacher for the special children. Purpose of this policy was to open the special schools  where it is not established at all.

For the children with special needs there are special schools in which they receive special education. Special education is that education which is given by special educator in special environment with special curriculum and special techniques. The curriculum is designed according to the disability of the children. If the child is mildly disabled then he/she can study in normal school but by special educator. Special education is only successful when the teacher is positive and have patience. There are specific teachers for each disability.
