What is Earthing?
Earthing or grounding is the process of transferring electricity immediately through low-resistance electrical cables or wires directly to the earth plate. Earthing is one of the most important aspects of an electrical network, as it makes it more accessible and safer to use a dangerous power source.
In the event of a short circuit due to leakage from weak insulation or damage, the grounding wire safely removes excess power and it will passively fall to the ground. All this is done through simple and inexpensive construction, design, and setup without excessive complications!

Voltage stability – When calculating the correct amount of power to be distributed between voltage sources, the ground provides that universal standard point reference. It takes almost earthing from voltage stability, which helps to ensure that no circuit is overloaded or overheated.
Damage, Injury, and Death Prevention – Own blown fuses or a trip circuit breaker are more likely to cause serious safety hazards to people and property than electric fires and shocks. Basically, grounding equipment protects against property, data loss, injury and death!
Distribution of static charge: In a fully porous system its capacity is equal to zero. So it can remove static charge build-up on conductors.
Eliminate the confusing voltage: Similar to the static charge, it also prevents the confusing voltage on the line. There is no possible difference in conductor.
Reduces the risk of electric shock: The main purpose of earthing is to avoid or minimize electric shock. The earth provides a conductive path that is directly resistant to the earth, which carries the flow of any such faults or leaks.
Since the earth line is always in contact with the earth, the entire point of the earth conductor will not have the potential to cause an accident. This is not a difference that causes a severe electric current to pass through another path, for example, a human body. Therefore, the metal parts attached to the earth line and the tool chassis are always safe to touch. Therefore, it is best to place any uninsulated electrical equipment on the ground, which may be subject to human intervention. In addition, it is recommended to apply earrings to devices that come in contact with water or liquids. So earrings are needed to protect human life and to protect electrical appliances and equipment.
For proper functioning of the equipment: Proper earring is very important for the functioning of the devices connected to the system. Mainly protection devices such as ELCB and earth fault relay require proper earrings for its operation. This is because the leakage current through the earth line is used to operate all these devices.

Types of earthing in an electrical system: –
In this type of earring, system galvanized steel and a perforated pipe of acceptable length and diameter are placed vertically in the wet soil. This is the most common system of earthing.
The size of the pipe for use depends on the size of the stream and the type of soil. The dimensions of the pipe are usually 40 mm (1.5 inches) in diameter and 2.75 m (9 ft) high in normal soil or in dry and rocky soils. Soil moisture will determine the length of pipe to be dug, but generally, it should be 4.75 m (15.5 ft).
In a plate earthing system, 60 cm x 60 cm x 3.18 mm (i.e. 2 ft x 2 ft x 1/8 inch) or 60 cm x 60 cm x 6.35 mm (2 ft x 2 ft x) )). A plate made of measuring copper inch) dug vertically into the ground (earth pit) not less than 3 meters (10 feet) above ground level.
