SSC CGL 2020 Notification Out: Check Exam Date, Eligibility

The Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for the much awaited SSC CGL 2020 Recruitment on their official website i.e. https://ssc.nic.in on 29^th December 2020 and those who wish to apply for this post can start registering themselves online from 29^th December onwards. All SSC Cgl aspirants who are preparing for this year exam can check all the important details like eligibility criteria, exam dates, exam pattern, vacancies, fees etc. through this blog.

Important Dates for SSC CGL 2020 – 21

• Online registrations will start from: 29.12.2020
• Last date to fill Application Form: 31.01.2021 (upto 11:30pm)
• Last date for Online Fee payment: 02.02.2021 (upto 11:30pm)
• Last date for generation of offline Challan: 04.02.2021 (upto 11:30pm)
• Last date for payment through Challan (during working hours of Bank): 06.02.2021
• Tentative Dates of Tier-I Examination (CBE): 29-05-2021 to 07-06-2021

SSC CGL Exam Eligibility Criteria

If you wish to apply for SSC CGL 2020 exam, here is the eligibility criteria:

Essential Educational Qualifications (as on 01-01-2021):

Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. The candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before 01-01-2021.

Exam pattern for SSC CGL 2020 – 21

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Tier-I: Computer Based Examination

The exam is conducted online that consists of 4 sections having 100 questions in total with maximum marks of 200 for which 60 minutes time is given to the candidates. The sections asked in SSC CGL 2020 Tier-I Exam are:

There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer given by you.

There is no sectional cut off.

Tier-II: Computer Based Examination

The exam will be conducted online comprising of 2 sections with maximum marks of 200 in each section. The sections asked in SSC CGL 2020 Tier-2 Exam are:

Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)

Tier-3 of SSC CGL 2020 will be a descriptive test (Writing of Essay, Precise, Letter, Application etc.). The paper will be in English/Hindi and will constitute of 100 marks. The entire paper needs to be completed in 60 minutes.

Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification

SSC CGL 2020 Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps: DEST Test & CPT Test.

DEST: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s writing skills.

CPT: This test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides.

Application Fees For SSC CGL 2020 – 21 Exam:

A candidate must pay an application fee of Rs. 100/– for SSC CGL 2020 Exam. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category and All Category Female are exempted from paying the online application fee. Candidates can pay fee either online through Net Banking / Credit Card/Debit Card or through offline mode by generating a Challan for the same.
