The process of sieving separates small particles from larger contaminants by using a sieve. Before grinding, a flour mill sieves wheat to remove impurities like husk and stones. It is also used to separate pebbles and stones from the sand on building sites.

- Now the sand has settled.
- Pour the water slowly into a second container to acquire sand at the bottom.
