Define sieving.

The process of sieving separates small particles from larger contaminants by using a sieve. Before grinding, a flour mill sieves wheat to remove impurities like husk and stones. It is also used to separate pebbles and stones from the sand on building sites.

To separate sand and water from their combination, perform these steps:

1. Allow the mixture to sit undisturbed for at least an hour.
2. Now the sand has settled.
3. Pour the water slowly into a second container to acquire sand at the bottom.
