SBI PO 2020-21 Exam Notification

The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the notification for the much-awaited SBI PO 2020 Recruitment on their official website i.e. SBI or https://www.sbi.co.in/careers on 14^th November 2020 and those who wish to apply for this post can start registering themselves online from 14^th November onwards. All banking aspirants who are preparing for this year’s exam can check all the important details like eligibility criteria, exam dates, exam pattern, syllabus, vacancies, fees, etc. through this blog.

Important Dates to Note:

• Online registrations will start from November 14 to December 04, 2020
• SBI PO preliminary exam will be conducted on: 12.2020, 02.01.2021, 04.01.2021 and 05.01.2021
• SBI PO mains exam will be conducted on: 01.2021
• Final result to be declared by March, 2021

Number of Vacancies

A total of 2000 vacancies is going to be filled in the year 2020-21 across all the branches of SBI detailed break-up of which is given below:

Eligibility Criteria:

If you want to apply for the SBI PO 2020 exam; please check all the below-mentioned eligibility criteria details:

Age limit: 21 – 30 yrs (+3 yrs for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), +5 yrs for SC/ST) as on 01.04.2020

i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1990 and no later than 01.04.1999 (both dates inclusive).

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2020.

SBI PO Exam Pattern:

SBI PO Exam follows a three-stage process – Preliminary, Main Exam, and Interview.

– Prelims test will have 100 questions for which 1 hour time divided into 20 minutes each for 3 sections is allotted to the candidate.

There will be no sectional cut-off. Adequate number of candidates 10 times (approx.) the numbers of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for Main Examination from the top of the above merit list.

– Mains examination will have 155 questions for which 3 hour time divided section-wise is allotted to the candidate.

Apart from it, there will be one Descriptive paper in the English language of 50 marks that needs to be answered in 30 minutes. It will contain 2 questions such as letter writing & essay, that aspirant has to type on computer only.

There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score.

Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Phase-II (Main Exam). There will be no sectional cut-off. An adequate number of candidates 3 times (approx.) the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for interview.

Phase-III: In view of the Social Distancing and safety measures necessitated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3 rd Phase may comprise of

(i) Interview only (50 marks) OR (ii) Interview (30 marks) & Group Exercises (20 marks).

Candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks in Phase-III to be considered for final selection

Number of Chances:-

Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of permissible chances are not eligible to apply. The number of chances will be counted from the examination held on 18.04.2010. Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance. In the years in which only one written examination has been held (i.e. no Preliminary Examination has been held), appearing in this examination will be counted as a chance.
