SBI po exam preparation : SBI Bank PO Exam pattern 2017 -18: State Bank of India (SBI) conducts written examination for Probationary Officer (PO) posts. From 2015 onwards SBI had changed the pattern of PO exam.

Now there will be 3 phases of exam instead of 2.
Phase 1 will be for screening of non-serious candidates to remove the competition.
Phase 2 will be main exam consisting of written as well as descriptive paper. Those aspirants who qualifies phase 2 are further tested with Group discussion and Interview. Here we are providing SBI PO Exam pattern 2017

SBI PO Exam pattern 2017 Phase-I – Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination is objective test. It comprising of Objective questions for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration divided into three Sections as follows:

Aspirants have to clear in each of the three tests by securing passing marks that will be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of aspirants in each category as decided by the Bank (approx. 20 times the numbers of vacancies available) will be short listed for the Main Examination.

SBI PO Exam pattern 2017 Phase – II

Main Examination: Main Examination will consist Objective and Descriptive Test both. Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both will be online.

The aspirants are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, as decided by the Bank.
(i) Objective Test: The Objective Test consists of 4 Sections (Total 200 marks) of 3 hour duration as follows:

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks

The aspirants are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be finalize by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those aspirants who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

SBI PO Exam pattern 2017 Phase – III: Group Discussion & Interview

The aggregate marks of aspirant qualifying in both the Objective Test and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in the individual category. A Competent number of candidates in the individual category, as decided by the Bank will be asked for Group Discussion (20 marks) and Interview (30 marks). The qualifying marks for Group Discussion & Interview will be as finalized by the Bank.

SBI PO Exam pattern 2017 Phase Last – Final Selection of aspirant:

The marks scored in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added to the selection and only the marks scored in Phase – II (Main Examination) will be added to the marks obtained in Phase – III (GD & Interview) for preparation of the final selection list.

The aspirants will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks scored by the aspirants in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks scored in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final list is attained at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion &Interview out of 100 for each category. The selection will be done from the top merit ranked aspirants in each category.
