In this quiz we are providing 10 questions based on Circular arrangement and Coding decoding which are important topics for banking and insurance exams and you can expect 5 questions from these topics in clerical as well as PO level exams. In Circular arrangement problems, some people are sitting around a circular table either facing the centre or facing away from the centre. These topics are not so difficult but you have to carefully read all the conditions given in the problems so that you can solve all the problems easily.

Directions (1-5) : In each of the questions given below, a group of letters followed by four combinations of digits/symbols numbered (a), (b), (c) and (d). Your job is to find out which of the combinations correctly represents the group of letters based on the following coding system and mark the answer accordingly. If none of the four combinations correctly represents the group of letters, mark 5, i.e. ‘None of these’, as your answer.

1) If the first letter is a consonant and the last letter is a vowel, then their respective codes are to be interchanged.

2) If both the first and the last letters is a vowel, then both of them are to be coded as &.

3) If both the first and the last letters are Consonant and in between if there are two or more vowels, then all those vowels are to be coded as 0.

4) If the first letter is a vowel and the last letter is a consonant, both of them are to be coded as the code for the consonant.

Directions (6-10): Circular arrangement puzzle based questions:

 

Eight employees A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a circular table facing the centre. They are different in profession. They are visiting different places viz., Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi.

A who is a doctor by profession is going to Chandigarh. E is neither CA nor a lawyer but is sitting opposite to CA. C is second to right of G who is an engineer. F is either Director or CA and is going to Mumbai. Neither CA nor Graphic Designer goes to Mumbai. H, a Graphic Designer is third to right of C. B is an artist and is going to Hyderabad. Solutions : 1-5:

  1. As the first letter is a vowel and the last letter is a consonant, we will code both of them as the code for the consonant.

So, code for EFHKLB will be *7963*

Answer: (b)

 

  1. As both the first and the last letters are Consonant and in between, there are two vowels, then we will code all those vowels as 0.

So, code for FTAMIR will be 7$0802

Answer: (a)

 

  1. As both the first and the last letters are Consonant but in between, there are no vowels, so we will code the letters according to the digits/ symbols given in the table.

So, code for DKPRTB will be %652$*
