The rainy season, sometimes known as the wet season, is one of the four seasons in which the region receives its average rainfall. Changes in wind flow and other geological conditions are the most common causes. In general, the rainy season provides a much-needed reprieve from the previous summer’s harsh heat, replenishing rivers and lakes.
Rainy days can also provide a fun break for children, as most schools close for the day owing to excessive rain to avoid mishaps. It is crucial for farmers since it aids in the growth and feeding of crops. Trees, plants, birds, and animals all benefit from rainy days.
During the rainy season, animals become more active. Farmers look forward to this time of year because rain is a lifesaver for their crops. However, if preventative precautions are not done, the season has the potential to cause widespread devastation. During the rainy season, floods, hurricanes, storms, and other water-related natural disasters are common.
When the rainy season arrives, animals are forced to seek higher ground due to the increased risk of flooding. Excessive rainfall washes away important minerals and nutrients in the soil, affecting plant growth. Soil erosion can occur in extreme instances.
The rainy season has its own set of hazards from an anthropogenic standpoint. Snakes and other poisonous reptiles would seek higher ground, often invading homes to escape the floods. Crocodile nesting is also on the rise as a result of the rainfall. Flooding has become more common as a result of global warming.
People have always associated the rainy season with the development of plants. Food crops, on the other hand, do not attain full maturity in agriculture, which can result in food shortages in some regions of the world.
A rise in the incidence of malaria and other water-borne infections has been noted during this season. Other infections like jaundice, typhoid, and cholera might be spread by the abrupt advent of the monsoon.
During this time, some animals, such as cows, give birth. Some butterfly species migrate from Mexico, such as the Monarch butterfly. During this time, several reptiles and amphibians begin to lay eggs. In order to prevent flooding, animals that live underground migrate to higher ground.
Finally, the rainy season is defined by at least 60 millimetres of precipitation or rainfall. It’s also the time of year when some animals, like cows, give birth. During this time of year, certain amphibians and reptiles have been seen nesting.
We are rejuvenated by rainy days since the weather is lovely and relaxing. A rainy day brings relief from an extreme heatwave in a tropical country. However, there are also disadvantages to this, as excessive rain can ruin various crops and fruits, making life more difficult for the poor.
