(a) 6 kg

(b) 8 kg

(c) 12 kg

(d) 10 kg

SOLUTIONS:-

Sol 1. (d) 10x + y – (x + y) = 81

                 9x = 81, So x = 9

                 Required numbers are 90, 91, 92, 93… 99.

Sol 2. (c) Let numbers be x and y.

                ATQ, x + y = 7a, x – y = a, and xy = 24a

                On solving, x = 4a, y = 3a

                Hence 24a = 4a*3a. So, a = 2

                Required product = 24*2 = 48

Sol 3. (b) LCM of 45, 75 and 90 = 450

So traffic lights will change again at 7min 30sec = 7:27:45 hrs.

Sol 4. (d)  L.C.M. of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 = 120 sec.

                 Number of times it toll together in 30 minutes = 1800/120 + 1 = 16 times.

Sol 5. (b) L.C.M. of 24, 36, 48 = 144.

So, the three girls will meet at one point in 144 seconds i.e., 2 min 24 sec.

Sol 6. (b) LCM of 20, 28, 32 and 35 = 1120

                Required no. = 5834-1120 = 4714.

Sol 7. (a)  Product of numbers = 21 × 4641 = 97461

                 Let the numbers be 21a & 21b.

                 Then, 21a × 21b = 97461, So, ab = 221.

                 Now, co-primes with product 221 are (1, 221) and (13, 17).

Hence the suitable pair is (273, 357).

Sol 8. (d) Let the numbers be 13x and 15x.

                Then, their L.C.M. = 195x.

                So, 195x = 39780 or x = 204.

Required numbers are 2652 and 3060.

Sol 9. (b) Other number = (12 × 336/84) = 48

Sol 10. (d) L.C.M. of 91/6, 65/4 and 56/ 3 =3640

So, 3 persons will again meet after 3640 sec = 1 hr 40 sec.

Sol 11. (c) Let total units be 12

Hence units invested by Raman: Rohit: Raja -= 3:4:5

Sol 12. (d) Let 9: 5 = 9x and 5y

                  ATQ, 9x + y / 5x + y = 4/3

                  27x + 3y = 20x + 4y

7x = y, Can’t be determined as cannot be solved further.

Sol 13. (b)  Largest size of the tile = H.C.F. of 378 cm and 525 cm = 21 cm.

Sol 14. (c) Rs5: Rs 2: Re 1

                  Ratio of no. of coins = 4: 6: 9

                  Total amount= Rs 20: Rs 12: Rs 9

                  Then ATQ, 41R = 4100, R = 100

                  Hence, no. of coins of Re 1 = 9R = 900

Sol 15. (a) Initial Copper: Tin = 4:3

                  Final Copper: Tin = 10:9

Since only Copper is extracted, hence Tin remains same, therefore, (4: 3)*3 = 10: 9

Diff. between ration of copper = 2R,

                  ATQ, 21R = 63, R = 3

                  So, 2R = 6 kg copper extracted
