NCERT & CBSE Solution Chapter 5 Class 7 Maths Lines and Angles

NCERT & CBSE Solution Chapter 5 Class 7 Maths Lines and Angles study material in form of 2D animated videos, question answers, worksheets, previous year papers, online tests, and help desk. Students understand  better when they can look visualize listen. Online class 7 Maths  Videos and Flash cards help students understand concepts better and retain what they have studied better. Animated videos  is a very strong proven way of learning, It brings a life in a topic, It earns the attention of the student, It can be fun to watch , along with videos, concepts are further explained through educational games and quizzes allow the student to interact and learn and it helps to explain and illustrate more complex concepts. In this post we are going to explain line and angles of class 7 Maths.

Class 7 maths Lines and Angles

One dimensional geometrical object with negligible width and depth is called line.
When two lines meet at a point, and form an angle at that point. That point is called the vertex of the angle and the two lines are the arms. There are different types of angles based on the position of the arms.
In this post,  we will learn about the properties of line and the different angles, their properties and their measurements.

Understand the various relationships that a pair of lines can have with each other. We will learn the meaning of parallel lines, transversals, congruent angles, and the angles they form between transversal and parallel lines.

Angles made by Transversal

Parallel lines : The lines in a plane which do not meet, do not intersect or touch each other at any point .

Transversal : A line intersecting two or more given lines in a plane at different points.

Exterior Angles : Outside of the lines l and m

∠1, ∠2, ∠7, ∠8

Interior Angles : Inside of the lines l and m.

∠3, ∠4, ∠5, ∠6

Corresponding Angles : Pairs of angles that are at the same position at each intersection on the same side of the transversal.

∠1 and ∠5, ∠2 and ∠6, ∠3 and ∠7, ∠2 and ∠8

Alternative Exterior Angles: Pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but outside the two lines l and m.

Lines l and m are parallel if any of the following is true:

Pairs of alternative angles are equal.

∠3=∠5, ∠1=∠7

Pairs of corresponding angles are equal.

∠2=∠6, ∠4=∠8

The sum of the interior (or exterior) angles on the same side of the transversal is 180 degree.

∠3+∠6=180 or

∠1+∠8=180

∠1 and ∠7, ∠2 and ∠8

Alternative Interior Angles : Pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but inside the two lines l and m.

∠4 and ∠6, ∠3 and ∠5.
