When he felt the earthquake, do you think Ignesious immediately worried about a tsunami? Give reasons for your answer. Which sentence in the text tells you that the Ignesious family did not have any time to discuss and plan their course of action after the tsunami struck?

Answer:

No, Ignatius did not suspect a tsunami when he felt tremors. He took his television set and placed it on the ground so that it would not fall and break. This suggests that he was not immediately worried about the tsunami. Otherwise, he would have gone out of the house in the first moment. The sentence in the text showing that the Ignatius family had no time to discuss and plan their course after the tsunami: ‘In chaos and confusion, their two children held their mother’s father’s hands. And mother’s brother, and ran in the opposite direction.

Question 3:

How are Meghna and Almas’s stories similar?

Answer:

Both Meghna and Almas’ family were swept away. Both of them kept swimming in the sea for days. Meghna sat at the wooden door in the sea for two days. He was brought ashore by a wave. Likewise, Almus climbed over the wooden log and fainted. He woke up in a hospital. Both girls were killed after the incident. While Meghna was seen staring at the seashore, Almus does not talk to anyone about the incident.

Question 4:

What are the different ways in which Tilly’s parents could have reacted to her behavior? What would you have done if you were in their place?

Answer:

Not taking her seriously, Tilly’s parents could try to calm her down thinking that she was scared of something. As a result, they could be washed out by tsunami waves.If I were in his place, I would also listen to him and feel that there was a danger coming. As a result, I would have run from the middle.

Question 5:

If Tilly’s award was to be shared, who do you think she should share it with — her parents or her geography teacher?

Answer:

If Tilly’s prize was to be shared, he should share it with his geography teacher who made him aware of the tsunami in the first place. It was this awareness that helped her save so many lives.

Question 6:

What are the two different ideas about why so few animals were killed in the tsunami? Which idea do you find more believable?

Answer:

Many people believe that animals have a sixth sense and know when the earth is about to move. On the other hand, some experts believe that more intense hearing of animals helps them to hear or feel the vibration of the earth. They can realize a disaster long before humans realize it. This second idea is more reliable.

Can you explain why there are many words in one column and not in the others?

Answer:
