So she cried when she lost her parrot. This was a very important thing for him. The defeat of his parrot filled him with grief. Her mother’s response indicates that she was a bit harsh. He did not understand his daughter’s grief and consoled her. He did not think that the death of the parrot was a significant event to shed tears in any way.

Answer:

When the princess was lying on her bed crying, she saw a small bird in her room. He wiped his tears and listened to the beautiful song that the bird sang. This drew the princess out of her gloom.

(i) The eight princesses, with all their pocket money, offered to buy a beautiful green and yellow parrot for the princess September.(ii) They did so because they were distressed by the fact that everyone was praising the princess’s September bird, which could sing. Their parrots looked sad and repeated the same things. They wanted him as the same pet they had.

After what her sisters advised her to do, the princess was worried about the bird. He feared that the bird might forget him or start liking someone else. She felt that she would lose her small pet in such a situation.

A very unfortunate remark

Upon returning, the bird said that it had not come very close that night because his father-in-law was giving a party and wanted him to stop. This was the last thing the princess wanted to hear as it confirmed her fears.

When the princess said that it would be safer in the cage because there were many cats roaming around, she said it was not bad for the time, until she took it out in the morning.

(i) One day when she saw a small bird lying with her eyes closed, she thought that she was dead. He opened the door and took out the bird. Feeling his heartbeat, he tried to wake her up and cry. One of his tears fell on the bird and he opened his eyes to see that he was out of the cage. It was said that it could not sing until it was free, and if it could not sing, it would die. This again persuaded her to grant her freedom. She wanted him to be happy because she loved him.(ii) The bird said that it would return because it loved it. This would be the sweetest song to sing for her. It will go too far, but will always come back and never forget it. Then, it flew into the sky.

Answer:

Yes, the sisters were ruthless and cruel. When they saw that the princess could sing the September bird and their parrots could repeat only two lines, they were distressed. He also offered to buy a green and yellow parrot for her. When she declined his offer, they asked her to keep her bird in a cage. He had put the bird in a cage, after which he stopped eating and singing. When she consulted her sisters, they said that it would soon be locked in a cage. He even said that he should persevere, and if it died, it would be very ungrateful. If it was stubborn and died, it would do the right thing. When he freed the bird, they mocked him and said that the bird would never return. All these examples show that they were very ruthless and cruel.

Answer:

The most important consideration in the story is the value of freedom. No one should be denied his freedom. The absence of freedom suffers a person, and prevents him from enjoying the beauty of life in its fullness. The bird was happy to fly in the story. It sang beautifully and ate well. However, when it was discontinued, it became miserable, and neither ate nor sang. It said that in order to sing, he needed his freedom, and if he could not sing, he would die.
