  • “God”, he wrote, “if you don’t help me, my family and I will go hungry this year”.

Ques 5: Are there people like Lencho in the real world? What kind of a person you say he is? You may select appropriate words from the box to answer the question.

Greedy        Naive      stupid     ungrateful    selfish    comical    unquestioning

Ans: No, you can’t find such people in real world. Lencho being a literate person doesn’t know how his letter will reach to God without mentioning any address. He can be called as naive and unquestioning.

Ques 6: There are two kinds of conflicts in the story: between human and nature and between human themselves. How are these conflicts illustrated?

Ans: The destruction of Lencho’scrops by the hailstorm is an example of conflict between the human and nature. Lencho gets very disappointed after seeing the destruction caused by the storm; this shows the conflict between human and nature. But there is one more conflict shown in the story that is among the humans themselves. The postmaster and the other employees collected money and sent that to Lencho. It is only a way of showing kindness because they all were not related to Lencho. Even after getting the money, Lencho blamed the employees for taking away his some money. This shows that man does not have faith in fellow humans and therefore this is the reason for the conflict which is among the human themselves.
