MS Word is a word processor software developed by Microsoft which is used for creating, editing, formatting, storing, retrieving and printing of a text document. MS Word file formats are denoted either by a .doc or .docx file extension.

There are many functions that we can perform in MS Word shortcuts that are available with following options:

HomeClipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles, Editing
InsertPages, Tables, Illustrations, Links, Header & Footer, Text, Symbols & Equations
Page LayoutThemes, Page Setup, Page Background, Paragraph, Arrange

Basic Keys:

Ctrl + N Create a new document

Ctrl + B Make letters bold

Ctrl + I Make letters italic

Ctrl + U Make letters underline

Ctrl + Shift+ <  Decrease font size by one value

Ctrl + Shift + > Increase font size by one value

Alt+ Ctrl + S Split the document Window

Ctrl + Z Undo the last action

Ctrl + Y Redo the last action


Important Key points:

  1. To create a document, we use new command option from the menu.
  2. Save as is used to save a document for the first time.
  3. Print Preview is used to see the document before the printout is taken.
  4. Cut and Paste options are used to move the data from one part of the document to another.
