First of all; I will share the Weekday schedule of most of the working professionals that will give you an idea of the no of hours you will get daily for your preparation on a weekday.

After going through the above schedule, you would be able to come out with a time frame you will get daily for the preparation apart from weekends. Now let’s discuss each of them in detail whether you can increase or decrease any component:

Office Hours – There is no way you can reduce this portion of your time period. In many offices, you are required to work 9 hours a day in such a case you will have only 3 hours for your study per weekday.

Commuting – Time you will spent daily in commuting completely depends on where you live and how far your office is from your residence, we may consider the commuting time on an average to be about 2 hours. This can be greatly reduced if you live closer to your office and then you can dedicate more time towards your studies.

Sleep / Rest – Although 8 hours per day is suggested as the best way to ensure a complete sleep, even 7 hours are enough for most people. However, anything less may cause problems on your health. So, please ensure you take proper rest.

Eating / Personal Care – In this case, no alteration in timing can be made as 3 hours are surely the bare minimum for activities such as consuming breakfast/lunch/dinner, taking a shower, entertainment, etc.

Study Time – This is where you have the opportunity to study hard and make a difference towards your exam preparation.

Now let’s discuss the strategy for subject-wise preparation:-

Know your Syllabus and Exam Pattern thoroughly – Although this is one of the first steps for any exam preparation, but many times aspirants forget the exam pattern or syllabus which in turn derails your preparation completely.

Prepare a Study Timetable – You only have 3-4 hours per day to study for the SBI PO exam on weekdays, so you should not wonder what to study. Instead, prepare a proper study plan which tells you exactly the topics you must cover each day.

Make Use of the Commuting Time – General awareness and the banking economy are important segments of the SBI PO examination from which questions are asked in the mains. Buy a newspaper such as ‘The Hindu’ or ‘Indian Express’ every day and read it while on your way to the office if possible. The idea here is to be updated with the current affairs and improve your reading comprehension skills. Make full use of Weekends and Public Holidays – You cannot reduce the number of hours you work every day, so make proper use of public holidays and weekends when your office is closed. During these days, you can cover large parts of your syllabus or simply revise them.

Reduce Social Media Interaction – It is quite natural that you might be used to various social media platforms such as Whatsapp and Facebook, but being a serious SBI PO aspirant, you must reduce your social media interaction because the time you spend scrolling on social media pages could be better utilized preparing for the exam preparation.

Maintain Continuity – As a working professional, the biggest challenge may perhaps be that you will feel at times that studying for the SBI PO is too tough or perhaps you are too exhausted. Hence, to ensure that you do not fall off track, make sure to study something every day even if it is not too difficult or challenging. This will ensure that you do not stop preparing for SBI PO.
