How to Crack IBPS Exams in the first attempt? Tips to crack IBPS Exam in 2021
The way to get through the IBPS exam in India
It is absolutely possible to crack IBPS exams in your very first attempt. If you go through the IBPS syllabus in detail, you will find that most of the syllabus is of basic, high school level. The main issue with the preparation of the exam is that the aspirants do not put their best efforts into the practice and study. Here, I will chalk out the strategy of how you can crack IBPS exams in the first attempt:-
The first thing that you need to know is the exam pattern. Without having a clear knowledge of the selection procedure of the exam, you cannot plan your preparation.
Stage 1: Prelims,
Stage 2: Mains, and
Stage 3: Personal Interview (for PO and SO post)
Stage 1 has three sections, namely, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. It is just qualifying in nature. Candidates who are shortlisted in the Prelims are eligible to appear for the Mains exam, which has an Objective Test and a Descriptive Test (for PO and SO). English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, and General Awareness are the main components of the objective test in the exam. The Descriptive Test (English Language) includes Letter Writing and Essay. Candidates who clear the IBPS PO/SO Mains are called for a Personal Interview and final selection is based on the marks secured by the candidates in Mains and PI.

Create a Timetable: This is very important. Once you are thorough with the syllabus and have listed down the easy and difficult topics for each section, you have to draft a realistic timetable that you can follow. Allocate separate time slots for each of the sections as well as for reading/learning new concepts, solving practice questions, and revision. You must follow a proper routine by getting up early, eating well, and avoiding the stress of any kind to focus well, and getting rid of your weaknesses. Spend more time on your weak sections/topics.
Develop Reading Habits: Reading plays a very crucial role in your preparation for both Prelims and Mains. Reading is necessary to have a clear understanding of the grammatical rules and their usage, for the English Language section. General Awareness and English Language Descriptive Test sections need an immense reading of a wide range of topics on a regular basis as you have to memorize a lot of information to score well in these sections. So, allocate some time every day for reading.
Read newspapers, magazines of current affairs, English novels, and improve your reading speed. It is very essential to make a note of significant points, formulas, rules, and tips so as to refer before the final phase of the exam.
Clarity of essentials: Start from the foundation level to understand the topic clearly. Some of the topics like General Awareness, Computer Aptitude, and English Language sections require remembering the facts, details, and rules, but the others like Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability sections requires an in-depth study and comprehension of the various topics. You will not be in a position to even recognise and differentiate the concepts if you do not approach them in this way.
Remember significant aspects: The various formulas, steps to solve problems, rules and other important points and facts should be at your fingertips so that you don’t have to think twice before attempting a question. So, understand them first and then memorize them by heart. The formulas and the rules can only be remembered with repeated practice so do it accordingly.
Solve Practice Questions: After going through the example questions, you need to solve practice questions diligently. This will improve your problem-solving abilities. There are innumerable practice questions in each of the topics, attempt them religiously. Allocate a separate time period for practice alone. Identify the questions that you are not able to answer at present and attempt them later after a thorough revision.
Improve your Time Management: If you study religiously in the above manner, you will find that most of the topics in the syllabus of banking exams are easy and you are able to solve most of the questions. The challenge that is there in the exam is that the questions need to be completed within the given time limit. The Prelims and the Mains both have a scheduled time period and all the questions should be completed within that time. So, you need to have good time management skills and you need to maintain a balance between your speed and accuracy. This can be achieved only with time-bound practice.
Take Mock Tests: Taking mock tests on a regular basis will help you in multiple ways. You will get used to the pattern and level of the exam. You will identify the important topics as well as the topics where you are weak at. The strategy should be built in a way that makes us smart, develops focus, and gives the required energy to crack the exam perfectly and avoid any kind of negative marking. So, once you finish the whole syllabus, take as many mock tests as possible and improve on your weaknesses and overall test-taking strategy.
Be regular with revision: There is no harm in doing revision even if you know the concepts well. Otherwise, you will forget. It is always good to have a revision time at the end of each topic so that you do not miss out on important things.
