Global Warming refers to the increment of the overall temperature of the Earth’s Atmosphere due to various reasons.

A study published on Wednesday in Science Advances concludes that the Himalayan glaciers are losing 1.5 feet of snow every year since 2000. In this way, the Himalayan ice is melting at a much faster pace than the last 25 years. In recent years, so much
snow has melted by glaciers in a year, which equals to about 8 billion tons of water.
The authors of the study described it as equal to the amount of water held by the
3.2 million Olympic-sized swimming pools.

In this study, scientists have pointed towards the threat of global warming. So far the glaciers were called the water tower. Along with the places where there was dry these glaciers were considered to be an insurance policy for people living over there, but the way the glaciers are melting, the danger is doubling. In February, a report produced by the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development, by the end of the
century, the Himalayas could lose up to one-third of their ice.

In the last 150 years, the average global temperature has already increased by 1 degree.
Scientists estimate that by the end of this century, the average global temperature will increase from 3 to 5 degree Celsius. Another study published in Nature in May found that the Himalayan glaciers are melting rapidly in summer because they are being rebuilt by snow in winter. In hot weather melting snow from the mountains gets mixed with water in the rivers, due to which the level of water is increasing there.

Effects of Global Warming

So far crops are being irrigated with water coming out of these glaciers. We also get drinking water and they are being irrigated too. The retreat of glaciers is one of the
most frightening consequences of the increasing global temperature.
Throughout the world, the disappearing glaciers mean that the quantity of
water will be reduced for people, livestock and crops.

Due to the destruction of glaciers in the Himalayas, there will be two serious hazards.
Glaciers that are melting in a short time make small ponds on the mountain, if the number of water increases in these, then it will create more damages. For example,
small villages settled here will be destroyed. The loss of glacier’s ice in the long term means that loss of water of Asia’s future water. If the steps were not taken to prevent these glaciers from melting, it will be very difficult to get water in the time of excessive heat and dry time in the future.

The University of Columbia recently undeclared the US. Detective satellite data, depending on the analysis of satellite images of 650 glaciers at a distance of 6000 kilometers or more than 600 miles of the Himalayas. Researchers changed the images to 3D models, which is
how the changes in the area and quantity of glaciers.

They found that from 1975 to 2000, throughout the region glaciers lost 10 inches ice of every year. Their melting began in 2000 and now the rate of multiple losses has doubled, every year about 20 inches of ice is melting and converting to water.

This study also concludes that burning fuel contributes to the melting of the ice. Rise of temperature was the big factor of these melting glaciers, while the temperature in the vast mountain range was higher than the average.

Glaciers are melting much faster between 2000 and 2016 compared to earlier years, the result of which is visible. Scientists are very worried about the melting of the Himalayan glaciers.

In this, the spread of dengue was assessed by keeping the present condition of global warming at the center, which states that in every situation the risk of dengue will increase steadily. Diseases like dengue,  chikungunya,  and Zicha spread due to female Egyptian mosquito. The mosquito of this species is more dangerous because they only put biting humans in their preference, while other species of mosquitoes bite off any organisms.
