- Writing an email is time-consuming. Sometimes, the message is best communicated over the phone or directly. Organizing and reading through emails also can take up an excellent deal of your time and prove an obstacle within the way of a worker’s productivity.
- It doesn’t matter if the e-mail is sent accidentally or deliberately, the damage remains the same. Moreover, when someone hands you a letter, you’re the only one who receives that letter. An email is often intercepted by a hacker or ends up in someone else’s inbox.
- While email is often faster, the meaning of the message is usually lost within the text. It can make customers or employees forget there are other people involved within the communication, which may affect customer service.
- Pronouns and popular jargon can cause conflicts in emails. Additionally, email is crammed with abbreviations and short descriptions, which may often be misunderstood and/or misinterpreted in an incorrect way.
- All of your emails and important information are often lost with an easy hard-drive crash. Although you store your email information on another server, you’ll lose your data if that site goes down or gets out of business.
- Email shouldn’t be considered as a replacement for direct, face-to-face communication.
