When should you eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
Why is it important to eat breakfast in the morning?
1. What is the difference between lunch, dinner, and breakfast?
Breakfast: The first meal you eat every day right after your parents wake you up is breakfast. That is right – Breakfast is the day’s first meal, and we eat it to break our overnight fast.
Lunch: You see how you have a recess or lunch break when you are in school? That is because the breakfast you eat in the morning empties your tummy by noon. That is why we have lunch, a meal taken in the afternoon.
Dinner: Now recall how you eat a meal with your family every evening or night at some time between 6:30-10 pm. That is right – Dinner is a big meal you eat during the late hours of the day.
2.When should you eat lunch, dinner, or breakfast?
In general, everyone should eat every two-three hours. However, for some people, it may not be possible. So to build a steady schedule, breakfast may be had in the early hours of the morning, a snack at around 9 am in the morning, lunch around 12’o clock, a snack at around 3 pm in the evening, and dinner at around 7 pm in the evening, and if you feel hungry, a snack at 9 pm at night. Throughout the day, you should nourish your body based on your activity.
3. Why is it important to eat breakfast in the morning?
Do you see how in the above answer, our stomachs stay empty from dinner time to breakfast time? So during those hours, our body does not get any energy. That is why breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day.
In fact, there is an ancient saying that many people follow even to this day –
Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. It means that you should have a great breakfast like a king would have, a mediocre lunch like a prince, and very little food for dinner like a poor person, so you go to sleep with a light stomach.
Now that we know so much about the 3 main meals of a day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner, let’s answer a couple of questions about them.
1. Look at the food items and write which one you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
